Hanging gift wrap organizer

Years ago I spotted this image in a crafting magazine, and was inspired to make one for myself.

This hanging gift wrap organizer slips over your own hanger to hang almost anywhere. One side has two huge pockets and centre section with inner compartments. Flip it over - 10 more pockets.

I took this idea, and modified it slightly to create my own version.  Since then, I've made quite a few of these for family and friends.  It's one of my standard house warming gifts for someone with a new home.  

Shed or Garage Organization

We don't have the luxury of a garage at our house, we just have a small garden shed.  We also have very limited inside storage in our little house, so we need to make the most of every square inch of storage in our shed.

My solution:

• Stacking rubbermaid storage bins - labelled
• Rack shelving systems
• Hooks on the wall
• Garden tool storage caddy (Lee Valley Tools - $50)

Gadget drawer organization

With very limited drawer storage in our original kitchen, we needed to turn a deep pot drawer into organized storage for all of our kitchen gadgets, including knife storage.

My solution:
Together with my partner Rich, we designed and constructed a custom gadget storage system from plexiglass, complete with a sliding top section for the in-drawer knife block.  This solution allowed us to function in the original tiny kitchen until we saved up our money to do a full kitchen remodel.
